Day Forty – PB’s and Cheat Meals

I had a super exciting training session this morning, achieving a personal best for 5km. For the first time since I started running, I managed to complete this in under 30 minutes; with a time of 28.17. I know this isn’t the fastest but it’s a big accomplishment for me and proof that I’m making progress and getting one step closer to my goals. I’ve been working towards this for a while but was never achieving it as I was running slower to cover more distance. It was fun to just go all out on the 5km, really push myself and reach this goal! I then hit the mats for some work on my abs. I’m a girl on a serious mission to get a six pack; and my baby abs are coming through slightly!

I had a flat viewing tonight after work which has left my head in a bit of a mess. The location is perfect; it’s a beautiful area with lots of lovely little coffee shops, restaurants and shops etc but I didn’t love the flat itself. It was quite small and looked even smaller as the current tenant was super messy and had a lot of clutter! That said, I haven’t stopped thinking about it. It’s a flat that requires a lot of work but I can see the potential there; if we could put in the time, effort and money. I’ve got a lot of thinking to do.

After work and the flat viewing I was in an awful mood and I couldn’t really pinpoint why. It turns out I just really wasn’t feeling like eating the dinner I had planned for the night and wanted a takeaway instead; but was having an internal battle as to whether this was a good idea or not. In the end I decided that having something I really wanted, for the sake of my happiness, would not do too much harm. A Chinese takeaway one night wasn’t going to make me fat and I was so glad that’s finally clicked; so we got one. I enjoyed every single bite and ended up eating far too much. Afterwards, I decided that I obviously needed ice-cream so we went to the shop for some Ben and Jerry’s. We got Cookie Dough and Chocolate Fudge Brownie flavours; it was heaven in a bowl. I was so full that I could hardly move and I certainly didn’t enjoy that feeling. In hindsight, I’m glad I indulged as I really wanted the takeaway and it’s satisfied my cravings but I certainly won’t be doing that again anytime soon.

My intake for the rest of the day was:

  • Nutrigrain Blueberry Bar
  • Nutrigrain Granola Bar
  • Leftover Fajita Chicken w/ Salad

(It was going relatively well until dinner..)

My seriously full belly and I are off to bed now as I’m working tomorrow. Goodnight!
