Day Thirty Five – Mother’s Day

Today I went to Glasgow to see my Mum. We went out for lunch as a family, with Brandon too; to a gorgeous restaurant in Glasgow, The Restaurant Bar and Grill. I absolutely love and cherish time spent with my family – I don’t get to see them often as we live in different cities! Our lives are all so busy that it’s great when we find the time to catch up. My Mum gave me a big sponsorship towards my run today and it means everything¬†to me to hear her say how proud of me she is. I’m being soppy here, I know!

My intake for today’s rest day was:

  • Nutrigrain Strawberry Bar
  • 2 Small Slices of Bread w/ Balsamic and Olive Oil
  • Fillet Steak w/ Peppercorn Sauce and Fries
  • 2 Chocolate Truffles

I’ve been a little naughty but I’m okay with that and am balancing being stricter throughout the week with having a little bit of a treat when these occasions come up! Thankfully, I have no more social events/occasions in the diary until April now; so I can really focus on my nutrition and eating clean. I’m not saying I don’t enjoy going out for lunch/dinner or nights out with friends; I love it, but it’s much easier to stay on track without the temptation. I enjoy things more when I’m in a routine as well and eating completely clean comes easier to me without the speed-bumps that are social events. I’m looking forward to knuckling down and being strict in order to continue seeing results.

I’m off to write my meal plan and shopping list for the week!
