So it’s Sunday, which as normal for me means a rest day! I use this to re-cooperate for the week ahead. This Sunday, rather than spending it on the sofa as I usually would, I went through to Glasgow to visit my family – something I really ought to do more regularly. It’s easy for me to get caught up in work, socialising etc and I need to remind myself how important the time I spend with my family is!
Today was a planned cheat day as part of my Mum’s Christmas. I got her vouchers for the Italian restaurant in which my Dad proposed to her. I knew that Italian meant carbs, so naturally this had to be a cheat day!
Before heading to the restaurant in the evening we went to a shopping centre, I avoided KFC and sat with a black coffee whilst they ate and I nearly bought a Macbook, but I left empty handed and with an empty belly. This was just as well given what was to follow.
I am slightly embarassed to post my intake for today but here it goes:
- Yu! Blueberry Gums (Healthy and Natural!)
- Spaghetti Al Capone (Meatballs and Italian Sausage in a Spicy Sauce)
- 1/4 Spicy Chicken Pizza
- 2 Slices Garlic Bread
- Fries – Just a Handful
- McDonald’s Chocolate Milkshake
It’s been a pretty monumental cheat meal/day! I’ve eaten a lot and foods which I would never normally have but I enjoyed a day with my family and it was nice to allow myself these things without guilt. Day by day my relationship with food is slowly improving and I’m proud of myself for taking the plunge and accepting this. I do however much prefer my healthy lifestyle and am looking forward to smashing a good workout in the morning! I’ll definately be putting all those carbs to good use.
