I didn’t get a chance to post yesterday as I was really tired and busy! I woke up at 6am on my day off (my bodyclock is all over the place) but managed to sleep a little longer until 7.30 – still not ideal but a lot better.
As I was up so early I decided to go for a sunbed in preparation for going out that evening. Then I went to get my nails done – I am a real girly, girl at heart! It was snowing really bad and I parked somewhere I shouldn’t have, but got away with it. I knew then I was going to have a good night. And I did.
Brandon and I don’t really celebrate Valentines Day in a big way, but he still came home from work with 12 gorgeous red roses and we went out for dinner. We had a beautiful meal in Angels with Bagpipes – an amazing restaurant on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. I’d been looking forward to it all week and it definately lived up to my expectations. We had bread and oils, I then had haggis to start and we shared Chateaubriand with chips, mashed potato and green beans for the main course. I worked my ass off for those chips and they did not disappoint! It felt amazing to reward myself and not feel guilty; knowing I truly deserved a little treat.
Unfortunately, dinner was accompanied by a little too much red wine and I woke up this morning with an awful hangover. I really want to eliminate drinking entirely as I throws me off track and generally just makes me feel horrendous. I was a little bit naughty in order to cure my hangover. Today I’ve had:
- Morning Roll w/ Applewood Smoked Ham
- 10g Bag of Tesco Salted Popcorn (comes in at only 46 kcals)
- Roast Chicken w/ Carrots, Asparagus, Brocolli and Nandos Garlic Sauce
- Ski Smooth Yoghurt
- Bottle of Lucozade Energy (this is the disappointment)
Given that I previously used to nurse a hangover with chinese takeaway or a pizza, it’s not too bad but I am a little disappointed with myself. I feel as though I have jeapordised my progress slightly, as I simply cannot function normally when I’m in this state. I’m just praying I will be able to get up for the gym tomorrow. I tend to find that the day after a hangover I’m always exhausted and really hungry!
Despite the hangover, once I managed to shake myself from the zombie-like state I was in, we actually had a really productive afternoon flat hunting! We managed to go see another 3 flats and I think we’ve found the one – fingers crossed! I fell in love with it instantly and really envisaged myself living there! I think we’re going to make an offer on it (which is the scariest, most adult thing I’ve ever done!)
I’m off to get an early-ish night for work and the gym tomorrow; wish me luck!
